Pear Suite, a digital health company empowering community health workers (CHWs), announced that it has raised $7.6 million in Series A funding to advance the development of its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered platform, fuel its provider organization network growth, and expand its impact through new Medicaid and Medicare health plan contracts. Pear Suite helps health plans scale culturally responsive, trust-based care interventions that improve population health. The investment round is led by Rock Health Capital and Nexxus Holdings, with support from Mucker Capital, Enable Ventures, The SCAN Foundation, Acumen America, Impact Engine, and the California Health Care Foundation, the announcement stated.
The funding announcement comes at a time when federal and state policy debates around Medicaid redetermination, work requirements, and preventative care reimbursement are rapidly evolving, carrying the potential to reshape how population health is financed and delivered, the announcement stated. Health plans increasingly rely on CHWs to improve health outcomes, especially among Medicaid members, older adults, people with disabilities, and other communities that have historically faced systemic challenges in accessing care.
